Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is often asked and reminded about his famous shirt celebration at the Lord’s balcony after defeating hosts England in the Natwest series final in 2002. He was once again prompted to speak about it during a recent episode of the Television show Kaun Banega Crorepati, where Sourav Ganguly made a guest appearance alongside his former teammate opener Virender Sehwag.

Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, the host of the show, probed the BCCI President about that memorable moment when ‘Dada’ wildly celebrated the victory by waving his shirt at the iconic Lord’s, asserting India’s dominance for the historic series win.

Sourav Ganguly shyly embarrassed a bit, spoke about it. He then also stated that current captain Virat Kohli shouldn’t be challenged to do something like this; he said Kohli won’t mind even waking down the famous Oxford Street in London without a shirt on him.

Ganguly said, “Don’t challenge Virat Kohli. He can even go to Oxford Street without a shirt.”

Kohli is often touted to have a similar aggressive mindset and attitude as Sourav Ganguly.

India take lead at Oval on Day 3

Meanwhile, India have taken a slender 9-run lead at the Oval on Day 3 before going into lunch. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul continued their unbeaten partnership from Day 2. Both, as they have for the most part of the series, left and defended the ball well while ticking the occasional boundary. However, Rahul departed before lunch, James Anderson giving England their first breakthrough.
