Meanwhile, Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, whose father is also a retired army man, also shared a heartwarming post of the Indian Armed Forces.

She thanked the Indian Armed Forces for their bravery and sacrifices, acknowledging the courage of the soldiers and their families during these challenging times.

However, it was Kohli’s comment on Anushka’s post that caught everyone’s attention, especially after a video went viral on social media where she was seen ignoring Kohli’s extended hand while stepping out of the car at a restaurant in Bengaluru.

The Indian batter dropped “Jai hind 🙏❤️🇮🇳” in the comment box.

IPL 2025 suspended indefinitely amid rising India-Pakistan tensions

Meanwhile, the ongoing India-Pakistan war forced the ongoing IPL 2025 to be suspended indefinitely. On Friday, May 9, the tournament was officially suspended due to rising tension between India and Pakistan. This decision came just hours after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was called off for safety reasons.

Pakistan had reportedly fired eight missiles toward Indian areas like Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia. Thankfully, India’s defense systems intercepted all of them. However, none of the IPL stadiums were targeted by Pakistan, but the BCCI and IPL Governing Council decided to suspend the tournament as a precaution and for the safety of all involved in the league.

As a result, players from teams like Lucknow Super Giants have started returning home as they were set to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday. This situation affected the final phase of the season, with 16 matches — including 12 league games and 4 playoffs — left to be played.

This is the first time the IPL has been stopped mid-season since 2021, when the tournament was suspended due to COVID-19 and later completed in the UAE. For now, cricket takes a back seat as national safety comes first as every Indian is rallying behind the country and its armed forces in this tough time. Notably, Pakistan had shifted its PSL to the UAE on Thursday.
