Virat Kohli Or Rohit Sharma? Michael Vaughan Chooses Under Whose Captaincy He Would Have Played In IPL
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has created a loss of buzz on social media with his fiery tweets, especially with regards to the Indian team, and has become a favorite of India cricket fans. Now he has chosen under whose captaincy he would have loved to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL)- Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli.
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are two of the biggest names in Indian cricket recently. While Virat Kohli captains Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since 2011, Rohit Sharma took over as Mumbai Indians (MI) captain in 2013.
However, the fortunes of the two have been vastly different as under Virat Kohli, RCB has not been able to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) even once, reaching the finals in 2011 and 2016. While on the other hand, Rohit Sharma has won the IPL trophy five times in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 and is currently the defending champions.
Michael Vaughan makes his pick for captain under whom he would have played IPL- Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma
Michael Vaughan tackled this question during an interaction with CricTracker. He was asked to name the captain under whom he would have liked to play in the cash-rich league, given that the tournament which started in 2008, has seen multiple trophy-winning captains in Gautam Gambhir (2012, 2014), MS Dhoni (2010,2011,2018), Adam Gilchrist (2009) and David Warner (2016).

Vaughan was very clear with his answer and named MI skipper Rohit Sharma, who as a player as well as the most IPL titles to his name-6.
“Rohit Sharma. Mumbai Indians, the best T20 team in the world without any question. He is a magnificent leader; he is calm and composed; his strategies are very clever and I could see myself next to Rohit,” Vaughan said in an interaction with CricTracker.
Rohit Sharma won his first IPL title as a player in 2009 when the Adam Gilchrist-led Deccan Chargers beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final of that year’s IPL in South Africa. He was then bought by Mumbai Indians after Deccan Chargers became defunct and was named captain in the 2013 edition after Ricky Ponting stepped down.
