A major controversy has rocked the ongoing PSL 2025 as the Karachi Kings pacer Hasan Ali and Quetta Gladiators spinner Abrar Ahmed were involved in a heated argument during the 15th match of this season on April 25 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Ahmed Shehzad confirmed hearing about the incident and claimed that many present at the venue have verified the ugly fallout between Hasan Ali and Abrar Ahmed. Shehzad also revealed that the heated altercation took place during the post-match ceremony in Lahore.

Ahmed Shehzad said on Geo News, “Yes, I heard about their (Hasan Ali and Abrar Ahmed) fight during the post-match ceremony, and people are talking about it with a lot of enthusiasm.”

The Pakistani pacer is known for his energetic antics on the field, and it seems that his lively nature didn’t fit with Abrar Ahmed's calmer personality, which could have led to the fight that may be a love-hate fight. However, Ahmed Shehzad claimed that the fight wasn’t playful banter, but it was intense enough that people had to intervene and separate them.

However, no video of the incident has surfaced yet, but Shehzad revealed that the eyewitnesses at the Gaddafi Stadium have confirmed the ugly fight between Abrar Ahmed and Hasan Ali. Last week, the Karachi Kings bowler mimicked the send-off celebration of Abrar Ahmed after dismissing the spinner.

'It's good that there is no video'

Shehzad further explained, “If the people have to intervene, it's not a love-hate fight. It's the post-match ceremony. It's good that there is no video. But the people who were there are verifying it.”

Ahmed Shehzad revealed that Hasan Ali and Abrar Ahmed had a serious fight during the post match ceremony.

Ahmed Shehzad praises Faheem Ashraf's PSL 2025 performance

In the same PSL 2025 clash between Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings, Faheem Ashraf played the stunning knock of 43 runs off 27 balls laced with four boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of around 160 and helped his team to win the game by five runs in Lahore.

On being asked whether he reconsidered his stance on Faheem Ashraf, as he had been critical of his Pakistan selection, Shehzad’s tone took a shift after witnessing the all-rounder’s impressive performance in his latest outing for the Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing PSL 2025.

Joining the national team is not the last thing to do: Ahmed Shehzad

Shehzad emphasized that the process of the national team selection isn’t based on personal preferences or random choices, but the players are selected based on their domestic achievements and the team's requirements, and he still believes in the same.

Shehzad said during the same discussion, “See, we are all the same. There is very little difference. But there is a criterion to bring someone into the team. It's a domestic performance. It's not like I go to the club and ask them to bring me or someone else tomorrow. There is a criterion and process to join the team in international cricket. It's not like it's the last thing to do.”

Notably, Faheem, who recently played for Pakistan on the New Zealand tour, has so far played 17 Tests, 37 ODIs, and 48 T20Is. He has 89 wickets and 1020 runs to his name in international cricket.
