However, Andries Gous and Michael Pepper added 85 runs for the second wicket. Pepper was dismissed for 36 runs off 25 balls, and Gous continued his attack from the other end.
Sam Hain (1) was also dismissed quickly soon after the departure of Michael Pepper. Laurie Evans scored 21 runs from 18 balls and tried to give support to Andries Gous at the other end. However, in the end, Gous made sure that Abu Dhabi Knight Riders crossed the line and he played an unbeaten knock of 95 runs from 50 balls. Gous smashed a total of 5 fours and 7 sixes.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders moved to the 3rd spot in the points table after registering a win in their opening match of the tournament. The start was not up to the mark for the Desert Vipers, who are also the defending champions of the ILT20. The ILT20 has proved to be a huge success after the opening season of the tournament.
