Watch: Ball of the century! Batsman stunned by bowler's outrageous spinning delivery in Kuwait

During the KCC T20 Challengers Cup 2024 match between Kuwait Nationals and SBS CC, Nationals bowler Muhammad Waqar Anjum bowled the new edition of the ‘ball of the century’ to dismiss SBS CC batsman Beant Singh. While it is Australian legend and veteran leg spinner Shane Warne, who is known to bowl the ‘ball of the century’ to dismiss great England batsman Mike Gatting. The ball pitched outside the leg stump and spun away to hit the top of the off stump.

On the second ball of the 12th of the second innings, Muhammad Waqar Anjum bowled an outside leg stump delivery to which Beant Singh moved towards the leg side to hit the ball. However, it spun away from the offside and went on to hit the top of the leg stump.

While the match was cut down to 17 overs per innings, batting first in the match, Kuwait Nationals were able to put up a score of 184/7 courtesy of a century from opener Ahmed Khalid Hafiz. He played an innings of 129 runs from 55 balls which included 11 fours and 10 sixes. Hafiz along with his partner Muhammad Nouman Jamil 39 runs for the first wicket in just 3 overs. However, Jamil departed for 10 runs from 7 balls.

While Ahmed Khalid Hafiz went on to hit runs from the other end, no other batsman was able to cross the 10-run mark. Nabeel Shahid Butt (5), Muhammad Waqar Anjum (5), Muhammad Naeem Razzaq (0), Muhammad Asim Sandhu (1) and Mohammad- Bastaki (2) were dismissed cheaply.

Lakhwinder Singh and Nirmal Singh picked up 2 wickets with the ball for SBS CC whereas, Abdul Razzaq and Yusaf Mohammed picked 1 wicket each.

SBS CC lost their first wicket for just 1 run as Murugan Madhu walked back for a duck. Lakhwinder Singh also was not able to do much and got out for 14 runs. Nirmal Singh went on to hit runs for SBS CC and played an innings of 94 runs from 54 balls. Nirmal hit a total of 4 fours and 9 sixes during his stay at the crease.

Abdul Razzaq, Beant Singh, Riyaz Manaf, Yusaf Mohammed, Badshah Ahmed, and Pardeep Singh were dismissed cheaply without scoring many runs. In the end, Kuwait Nationals proved to be more for SBS CC and won the match by 14 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin will have the chance to enter the 500 wickets tally during the third IND vs ENG Test match and also become only the second Indian bowler to achieve the record after Anil Kumble.
