India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is making sure that he makes his 100th Test match special against England. The fifth and last game of the series between the two teams is taking place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
Ravichandran Ashwin made sure that he wrapped up the England tailenders as early as possible in the ongoing third session of the Day 1 of the game in Dharamshala. The off-spinner bowled pretty well and helped India bundle out the opposition for a low total.
Luck too favoured him as the wicket of the Ben Foakes was the sheer touch of luck. The England keeper-batter was making sure that he kept his team in the game and was frustrating the Indian bowlers but it was a bizarre end to his innings.
Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a flighted delivery outside off stump. Ben Foakes tried to go for a sweep and missed the ball. He avoided the lbw as the impact was well outside off stump. But to his disdain, the ball hit his arm and then went on to hit the stumps.

Ben Foakes couldn’t do much with the bat and also didn’t get support from the other end as well. The keeper-batter managed 24 runs off 42 balls. He hit three boundaries in his innings and was looking to soak in all the pressure. He made sure that England went past 200 runs on the bowled.
This was Ravichandran Ashwin’a third wicket in the innings. He earlier removed Tom Hartley (6) and Mark Wood in the same over to help his team put England under immense pressure and put his team at the top in the last game of the series in Dharamsala.
Ravichandran Ashwin removes James Anderson to end England’s innings on 218 runs
After removing Ben Foakes, Ravichandran Ashwin chipped in the same over and removed James Anderson to end England’s innings. He bowled a delivery to which England batter and tried to play the wild heroic in an attempt to get some quick runs for the team.
James Anderson mistimed the ball completely and the ball went straight to mid-wicket, where Devdutt Padikkal took an easy catch. Ravichandran Ashwin toiled hard for the first seven wickets and didn’t get any wickets but in the last 4.1 overs, he bagged four wickets.
Ravichandran Ashwin ended with the figures of 4/51 as India ended England’s innings on 218 runs. Apart from the off-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav was the star for India with the ball. He picked 5 wickets and left England in utter disdain, removing their middle order in a flash.
For England, Zak Crawley (79) was the top run scorer for the team as he hit a valiant half-century. Ben Duckett (27), Joe Root (26), Jonny Bairstow (29) and Ben Foakes (24) had started but they couldn’t cash on the start they got as England suffered a terrible collapse. The onus will be now on England bowlers to take quick wickets and put their team at the top in the last game of the series in Dharamsala.
