MS Dhoni who is celebrating his 43rd birthday today will be very happy with Dhruv Jurel's effort behind the stumps. He almost replicated his style to dismiss Wellington Masakadza in the 12th over of the Zimbabwean chase.
Zimbabwe while chasing a mammoth 235 to win lost wickets at regular intervals. Mukesh Kumar struck in his very first to dismiss opener Innocent Kaia. He then came back to dismiss Brian Bennett (26) who was looking threatening.
Avesh Khan then took back-to-back wickets in his first over to dismiss Dion Myers (0) and skipper Sikandar Raza (4). Meanwhile, Jurel's masterpiece with the gloves happened in the 12th over.

Masakadza survived a close call in the same over but was dismissed by Jurel's glovework in the second delivery of the 12th over. Washington Sundar bowling the second delivery of the 12th over, Masakadza tried to defend the ball, as it sneaked between his legs close to the silly point area. The batters tried to steal a quick single with Jurel hitting the stumps directly at the non-striker's end catching Masakdza short.
It was a superb piece of agility and flexibility from Jurel as well who was quick to get to the ball and release it as well. It reminded fans of MS Dhoni's style of running out batters as well in his prime. Meanwhile, constant fall of wickets took the sting out of the Zimbabwe chase.
Chasing a mammoth 235 to win, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 134 as India won the match by 100 runs. This was a proper thumping by the Indian team in the second T20I after losing the first T20I by a close margin. The series is now poised at 1-1 after the first two games with the Indian team making a strong comeback int the game.
This was after India posted a mammoth 235/2 with the bat in the first innings. Abhishek Sharma playing just his second T20I match for India scored 100 off just 47 deliveries with seven fours and eight sixes with a strike rate of over 200 The southpaw hit three consecutive sixes to get to his 100.
Rinku Singh (48) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (77) then added an unbeaten 87 runs to take India to that score. Before this stand, Sharma and Gaikwad added 137 for the second-wicket and plundered the Zimbabwean bowling attack.
The pitch on which the second T20I match was played was the same on which the first game was played out on Saturday. Zimbabwe posted 116 which was enough for them to win the first T20I. However, they were found out in the chase in the second T20I.
Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan took three wickets each, while Ravi Bishnoi took two and Washington Sundar took one. The 100-run will be the perfect boost-up that this young side needed after their loss in the first T20I. This marks Shubman Gill's first T20I win as captain as well. He still has a series to win though. The final three T20Is will be played on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
