Ellyse Perry also played a handy knock of 34 runs while no other Australian player could reach the 20-run mark. For New Zealand, Amelia Kerr starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, New Zealand could only score 113/7 in 20 overs. Australia kept the New Zealand batters in check throughout the game as the Sophie Devine-led side hardly looked in contention to chase down the total.
Suzie Bates was the only New Zealand batter to provide any resistance with the bat as she scored run-a-ball 34. For Australia, Ashleigh Gardner impressed with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 17 runs. The defeat was New Zealand's ninth in a row in T20Is.
Eden Carson pulls off a hilarious prank:
As the game was on, Eden Carson pulled off the hilarious prank and left her teammates in splits. While most of the New Zealand players and the support staff members were all smiles after the prank, Jess Kerr was not one of them.
The reason was that Eden Carson pulled off the prank on Kerr and left her scared. It happened when the New Zealand innings was on. At the end of the 12th over, Eden Carson was seen picking an insect from the ground just near the dugout.
While the players were busy watching the game, Eden Carson walked towards the dugout and kept the insect on Kerr's shoulder. Kerr was taken aback by the prank and jumped from her seat, leaving her teammates and others in splits.
