India captain Rohit Sharma didn't have a great outing with the bat in the ongoing Super 8 fixture against Afghanistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Rohit Sharma bagged another low total in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 as this time around it was Fazalhaq Farooqi, who sent him packing. The India captain didn't look in great touch as he struggled to get going and they fell early in the crucial game.

Rohit Sharma scored 8 runs off 13 balls and managed just 1 four in his innings. He looked scratchy right from the start and couldn't get going at all. This was his third consecutive failure in the tournament and the India captain came under scanner a lot.
After his wicket, India came under more trouble as they lost Rishabh Pant (20) and Virat Kohli (24) in quick succession of time. They were left tumbling at 62/3 and it seemed that they would find it hard to get going and struggle to post big totals on the board.
But it was Suryakumar Yadav, who changed the complexion of the game with his innings. He scored 52 runs and Hardik Pandya (32) supported him well as the duo bailed India out of trouble, stitching 60 runs and making sure that the team to a competitive total.
Axar Patel, in the end, hit some lusty blows and scored a quick-fire 12 runs at the end that powered India to 181/8 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of three for 26.

Jasprit Bumrah with the ball then oozed his class with the ball right from the start as he removed Rahmanullah Gurbaz (11) and Hazratullah Zazai (2) early to take his team off to a dream start with the ball at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers as he picked three wickets and returned with his figures of 3/7, which is the best by an Indian bowler in the T20 World Cup. Arshdeep Singh also picked three scalps while Kuldeep Yadav bagged two scalps as India bundled out Afghanistan for 134 runs to win the game by 47 runs.
