Team India will return to action on Saturday (July 27) when the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka begins. It will be their first assignment under new captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Earlier this month, Suryakumar Yadav replaced Rohit Sharma as India's new T20I team. Rohit announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game last month following the victory in the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid as the head coach.

The Indian team left for Sri Lanka last Monday (July 22) and started training for the series from the very following day. And on the eve of the series opener, the BCCI posted a clip of India's training session. The clip showed a number of brilliant moments between the players as well as the coach.

One of the most notable moments involved Gambhir. The former India opener, who is hardly seen laughing on the field, laughed his heart out as the players enjoyed the training session. In another heartwarming moment, Suryakumar and Hardik Pandya were also seen enjoying a warm moment between themselves.

The spirit in the Indian team looked as high as ever as the players added the final touches to their preparation for the series.

The Indian team will be hoping that their new journey in T20Is under a new captain begins on a winning note. The upcoming series will be India's second assignment since the victory in the T20 World Cup. Earlier this month, the Men in Blue also played a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.

However, most of the Indian players who played in the T20 World Cup will be in action for the first time since the monumental victory in Barbados.

Talking about Sri Lanka, they will be starting the series as underdogs and will be hoping that they make the most of the home conditions. Just like India, Sri Lanka have a new T20I captain too. With Wanindu Hasaranga stepping down after Sri Lanka's poor display in the T20 World Cup, Charith Asalanka has replaced him as the new T20I captain.
