In the chase of over 220 runs, Hardik Pandya was at his brutal best as he smashed the bowlers all over the park. He didn't put a foot wrong in his innings and kept his team in the hunt ever since he came to bat at No.6 and took the game away from the opposition.
Hardik Pandya's best came in the over of Gurjapneet Singh as he took the pacer to cleaners and put his team in the driver's seat. The all-rounder slammed the left-arm pacer for 30 runs (29 runs with bat and one no-ball) in an over and put the Tamil Nadu team under massive pressure in the big chase.
Hardik Pandya started the over with a massive six over long off and then followed it up with the straight six. The carnage from the all-rounder didn't stop there as he then slammed a big six again over the long off area to complete a hat-trick of sixes in the game.
If this was not enough, Hardik Pandya then hit another big six in long on region off the slower short ball by the pacer. Also, he attempted to carve it over the point but the ball took the outside edge and went for a four.

Just when it seemed that it would be a fairytale ending for Hardik Pandya and he would finish the game, the Tamil Nadu star Vijay Shankar came up with a massive effort on the field. In the last over, when Baroda needed 10 runs, the all-rounder tried to keep the strike with him.
Hardik Pandya played the shot towards the long on and tried to take the double, which wasn't on, but he wanted to keep the strike. Vijay Shankar, from deep, hit the bullseye, and the Baroda all-rounder had to take the long walk back to the pavilion.
