Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya came into the spotlight just at the start of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
As a mark of tribute for the people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad came up with a moment of silence. The entire Stadium, including players, officials, and fans, witnessed a 1-minute silence.
This was because terrorists in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir launched an attack on the tourists on Tuesday (22nd April). As many as 26 people lost their lives while several others were injured, and it sent a massive shockwave across the globe.
As it was going on, what caught the attention of many was the reaction of Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder was seen chatting to a match official on his left before he was seen smiling as all the other players observed a moment of silence.

Coming to the match, Hardik Pandya had a decent outing with the ball against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Mumbai Indians skipper removed Aniket Verma and returned with the figures of 1/31 in the three overs that he bowled in the game.
Mumbai Indians had a terrific outing with the ball in the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They opted to field first and were off to a flying start with the ball. The pacers were all over the opposition as they reduced them to 35 for five.

However, after that, Heinrich Klaasen brought his team back into the game. The keeper-batter slammed a magnificent half-century to bring his team back in the game. He played a brilliant innings of 71 runs off 44 balls, batting with a strike rate of over 161, hitting nine fours and two sixes.
He was well supported by Abhinav Manohar, who came out as an impact player. The right-hander played a brilliant hand of 43 runs off 37 balls. He had a strike rate of over 116 and also hit two fours and three sixes during his stay at the crease.
The duo added 99 runs for the 6th wicket that powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a total of 143 for eight. For the Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with the figures 4/26. Along with him, Deepak Chahar also bagged two wickets. The Hardik Pandya-led side would be keen to chase the target and register their 4th consecutive win in the league.
