Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women all-rounder Ellyse Perry wreaked havoc across the Mumbai Indians batting lineup in the ongoing Women Premier League (WPL) 2023 match. The 19th match of the tournament is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and opted to field first. Ellyse Perry made sure that their decision to field first paid off as she bowled impeccable lines and lengths and made a mockery of the Mumbai Indians’ batting lineup with her magnificent bowling.

Mumbai Indians were off to a valiant start with the bat as Hayley Matthews (26) and S Sajana (30) added 43 runs for the opening partnership and it seemed that they were set for another big total. However, after that Ellyse Perry stood tall for the team and changed the course of the game with her spell.

Ellyse Perry first sent S Sajana packing with the peach as she rattled her stumps and after that didn’t look back. On the very next ball, she removed skipper Harmanpreet Kaur with yet another peach of a delivery. After that, she trapped Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr in lbw.

If this was not enough, Ellyse Perry then castled the stumps of Amanjot Kaur and Pooja Vastrakar to dismantle the batting lineup of the Mumbai Indians. She seemed unplayable as the batters had no clue of what was coming off her hand at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Here’s the video:

Ellyse Perry returned with the figures of 6/15 in her spell and helped her team get into the dominating position in the must-win game for them. Her figures of 6/15 are the best ever by any player in the history of the Women’s Premier League.

Ellyse Perry didn’t pick a single wicket in the first 6 games. However, when his side needed the most, she stood tall for the team and made her impact felt. Her sensational effort with the ball saw Royal Challengers Bangalore bundling out Mumbai Indians for just 113 runs.

With her figures of 6/15 in the ongoing game against Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, she broke Marizanne Kapp’s record of registering the best WPL bowling figures. The DC pacer etched her name in record books during the inaugural edition of the league.

Marizanne Kapp recorded figures worth 5/15 for Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Giants in the inaugural WPL season (2023). Apart from her, only three other players have taken over four wickets in a WPL encounter.
