Watch: Ishan Kishan’s embarrassing moment as he loses ball right in front of him

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) top-order batter Ishan Kishan made a hilarious blunder while fielding during the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Saturday, April 12.

The match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Punjab Kings is currently underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.

Ishan Kishan produces a hilarious moment

Punjab Kings won the and toss chose to bat first in the match. Speaking at the toss, Shreyas Iyer said that they have great firepower in the batting unit and want to make the most of it by posting a big score on the board.

Pat Cummins, on the other hand, was not disappointed after losing the toss and he was confident in his team's ability to chase down any score.

Meanwhile, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for PBKS while Mohammed Shami opened the attack for SRH. On the first ball, Arya hit a delivery from Shami towards the fine leg for a single.

Then, on the second ball, Shami bowled a good length delivery to Prabhsimran Singh, who drove it straight past the bowler and Ishan Kishan came in running from mid-on to stop the ball.

Although he stopped the ball from going towards the boundary, he was unable to spot it despite being in front of him because it was on the sponsor mat, which had white writing on it. Skipper Pat Cummins quickly came in running to collect the ball as he spotted it, and thankfully, PBKS batters only took one run despite all the drama.

Ishan Kishan hasn't been able to do anything - Aakash Chopra

Speaking ahead of the match on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that the big problem for Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the poor form of Travis Head and Ishan Kishan. He elaborated:

"What could this team's thought process be? Surprisingly, Abhishek Sharma hasn't hit a single six thus far. I think he hit 40 or 42 sixes last year. Travis Head doesn't score runs in run chases. He might still score runs while batting first but hasn't scored runs at all in run chases, especially if it's a big run chase.

"Ishan Kishan hasn't been able to do anything like that after the first hundred. There are plenty of problems. My focus will once again be on Nitish Kumar Reddy because if the batting stumbles, Nitish Kumar Reddy needs to score runs. You can stand like a pillar even if there is a storm around."

Aakash Chopra further shared his views on the usage of Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh in the IPL 2025 by Shreyas Iyer. He said:

"I think they will use Chahal well in this match. They didn't get him to bowl in the last match as it wasn't required. However, things are going to change. They are using Arshdeep properly. I don't think they are doing anything wrong there."
