GT post 209/4, thanks to Jos Buttler and Shubman Gill

Captain Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler showcased a batting masterclass in the match against Rajasthan Royals and slammed brilliant half-centuries to help Gujarat Titans post a huge score of 209/4 on the board.

Buttler came out in the middle after the dismissal of Sai Sudharsan in the 11th over, and he struggled initially. He was not able to get going and played run-and-ball.

However, Jos Buttler changed things completely in the 15th over of the innings, which was bowled by the premier Sri Lanka National Cricket Team spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga.

Hasaranga started off the over with a dot and then bowled a wide. Then, Jos Buttler brought out his beast mode by smashing a six over deep square and then over the bowler's head.

After that, Buttler slammed a four towards deep square leg before smashing the colossal six over deep mid-wicket for yet another six. He finished off the over by taking a single as Wanindu Hasaranga leaked 24 runs in the over.

It will be slightly personal for Jos Buttler - Ex-India cricketer

Speaking ahead of the match on his official YouTube channel, the former India National Cricket Team batter Aakash Chopra said that the match against Rajasthan Royals would be personal for Jos Buttler, and he would be hoping to perform well as he was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. He elaborated:

"The top three are playing extremely well. Sai Sudharsan no longer has the Orange Cap on his head. So he will have another motivation to get it back. Shubman Gill also wants to score a heap of runs. He scored runs in the last match as well. He has been scoring a lot of runs, but is slightly behind in the Orange Cap race."

"It will be slightly personal for Jos Buttler, that you didn't keep me and kept (Shimron) Hetmyer. Rajasthan guys, just think about it. It is a homecoming of sorts for him. Rahul Tewatia's Tewatia-like knocks haven't come, but it hasn't made a difference," he added

"Gujarat knows that they haven't qualified yet. They are on the verge of qualification but haven't grabbed that spot yet, and it happens many times in the IPL that you feel you are very close, but you don't get those things," he said.
