Kuldeep Yadav bowled a stunning spell against England in the second semifinal of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. India locked horns against the defending champions on Thursday (June 27) at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

The left-arm spinner gave away just 19 runs in his four overs and picked up three wickets. Chasing 172 runs on a tough pitch, England were reeling at 39 for 3 after 6 overs when Rohit Sharma introduced Kuldeep Yadav into the attack. He started by giving away seven runs in his first over.

In his second over, Kuldeep Yadav struck on the very first ball to send back Sam Curran. And in his third over, he castled the dangerous Harry Brook to all but end England's slim chances of winning the game. On the third ball of the over, Brook brought out the reverse sweep to hit the chinaman spinner for a four.

However, Kuldeep Yadav had the last laugh as he dismissed the England star on the very next ball. Brook tried to play the reverse sweep once again but failed to make any contact as the India spinner had smartly changed the line of the bowl.

As a result, the ball went on to crash into the leg stump. And as soon as the ball hit the stumps, Kuldeep looked absolutely pumped up and celebrated the dismissal in an animated fashion. Brook departed after scoring 25 runs.

Coming to the game, India thrashed England by 68 runs to storm into the final of the T20 World Cup for the first time since 2014. England were bowled out for 103 runs inside 17 overs. Kuldeep and Axar Patel picked up 3 wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah claimed 2.

Earlier in the game, captain Rohit Sharma led his team from the very front and scored a fighting fifty to help his side post 171 for 7 on a tough batting pitch. Asked to bat first, India were off to a poor start as Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant departed inside the powerplay. However, Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav steadied the ship with a 73-run stand for the third wicket. India will now take on South Africa in the final.
