Kuldeep Yadav, on Saturday (June 22), tried to stop Tanzid Hasan from wasting a review but the Bangladesh opener wasted it anyway during the ongoing Super 8 game between India and Bangladesh in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The incident took place in the 10th over when the India spinner dismissed the Bangladesh batter. On the fourth ball of the over, Kuldeep Yadav completely bamboozled Tanzid Hasan with a googly. The ball landed just outside the off stump and Hasan expected it to turn away.
He went for a cut shot but was completely taken aback by the googly as the ball turned the other way. The ball went on to hit him on the back leg right in front of the stumps. The Indian players appealed for an lbw and the on-field umpire did not hesitate in giving his decision in their favour.
However, Hasan believed that he was not out and decided to go upstairs. And as the Bangladesh batter was contemplating reviewing the decision, Kuldeep Yadav tried to stop him by teasing him and constantly signaling him with his finger that he was plumb. However, Hasan reviewed the decision anyway and it did not take him long to regret his call.

Talking about the game, Bangladesh were on 131 for 6 in the 18th over at the time of writing this report. The Bangla Tigers are chasing 197 runs for a win in the must-win clash. Kuldeep Yadav has been India's pick of the bowlers so far, taking 3 for 19 off his 4 overs.
Earlier in the game, India posted their biggest score in the ongoing T20 World Cup so far as they finished their innings on 196 for 5. Hardik Pandya starred with the bat for India, scoring an unbeaten fifty to take the team to the 190-plus total. He scored 50 runs off 27 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes.
India look destined to win the game and it will very much seal their spot in the semifinals. Earlier this week, the Men in Blue thrashed Afghanistan by 47 runs in their first Super 8 game. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be all but out of the competition after the loss against India.
