Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan misjudged the line of a delivery once the ball shaped in and went on to hit the top of the off stump, dismissing the set batter.
Pakistan are currently on their tour to Bangladesh and have struggled with the bat on another occasion. Looking to advance into the WTC standings, Shan Masood and co. were chasing further points after having tied the series against defending champions South Africa.
Pakistan dropped their most veteran batter before the start of the first test against Bangladesh. Despite his sheer good form, Babar Azam was left out of the team after some major controversy with the national selector Aaqib Javed.
Mohammad Rizwan's bizarre dismissal off Nahid Rana pushes Pakistan to the edge
Nahid Rana, one of Bangladesh's most competent pacers, who recently played in the PSL as well, picked crucial wickets towards the back end to get rid of the Pakistan middle order and tail.
He bowled an in-swinging delivery that moved into the batter sharply after being pitched around off and went on to hit the off stump after Mohammad Rizwan left the ball expecting it to go over the stumps.
Mohammad Rizwan is one of the most veteran batters, and he was dismissed off Nahid Rana after the Bangladeshi pacer dismissed Saud Shakeel in the previous over, handing crucial breakthroughs to his team and inching them closer to a historic win.

Nahid Rana's five-fer hands Bangladesh their first victory in WTC 2025-27
Nahid Rana, the Bangladeshi pacer who played for the champions' side Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, returned for the Test series against Pakistan at Bangladesh's home stadium at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
Rana picked only a single wicket in the first innings while he was trashed for runs by the batters. However, coming into the second innings when Pakistan did not have much of a chance to win the match and it was heading to a draw, Nahid Rana emerged with some amazing stats.
Rana started with the wicket of skipper Shan Masood and then returned with another end spell where he dismissed the likes of Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Noman Ali and lastly dismissed Shaheen Afridi to end things for Pakistan. Bangladesh had their first win in this WTC cycle.
Changes in WTC points table after BAN vs PAK 1st Test ends in a win for the home side
Bangladesh had already played two matches in this WTC before the Pakistan home series. They could manage just one defeat and a draw; however, this time they registered their first win of the season. With 12 points added, they too now have 16 points; however, they still remain eighth on the WTC points table with a PCT of 16.67.
Pakistan, on the other hand, had defeated the Proteas, the defending champions, in one of the two tests and still continues their hold on the fifth spot over the Indians, who have a PCT of 48.15, still lower than Pakistan's 50.00. Hence no massive changes have been observed on the WTC 2025-27 points table.
