Young Pakistani fast-bowling sensation Naseem Shah was heartbroken after his team's loss against the Indian team during the 19th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Naseem Shah could not hold back his tears after the Pakistan cricket team's second consecutive defeat in the ICC T20 tournament.
The Babar Azam-led team suffered a six-run loss in the highly anticipated World Cup match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday, June 9. The Men in Green failed to chase down a 119-run target as they managed to score 113 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
The Pakistan team is on the verge of group-stage elimination in the T20 World Cup. They lost to the United States of America (USA) in their first match of the tournament. The team is currently fourth on the Group A points table, and qualifying for the Super 8 stages of the tournament isn't in their hands anymore.
Watch: Naseem Shah In Tears As Pakistan Collapses Against India
Naseem Shah came to the crease when the team needed 18 runs off the last five balls. He played a scoop shot over the keeper for a boundary off the fourth delivery in Arshdeep Singh's bowling, followed by another boundary. The right-handed batter managed to score just one run off the final ball of the match.
The Pakistani fast bowler cannot stop crying following the team's loss. Shaheen Afridi comforted Naseem as Babar Azam's team failed to secure victory. India captain Rohit Sharma patted the young bowler's back as he was unable to contain his tears.

Even Naseem Shah, our young bowler, played better than our highly paid batsmen. The time has come, if you’re not performing well, please resign gracefully and let others join. It’s time to take strict decisions, or they’ll never understand. #<!---->P<!---->a<!---->k<!---->v<!---->s<!---->I<!---->n<!---->dp<!---->i<!---->c<!---->.<!---->t<!---->w<!---->i<!---->t<!---->t<!---->e<!---->r<!---->.<!---->c<!---->o<!---->m<!---->/<!---->k<!---->k<!---->V<!---->9<!---->L<!---->Z<!---->n<!---->t<!---->F<!---->X

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. The Pakistan bowlers dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the power play. Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel built a 39-run partnership to stabilize the Indian innings. Patel was dismissed by Naseem Shah after scoring 20 runs off 18 balls, including two fours and a six.
Rishabh Pant top-scored for India, scoring 42 runs off 31 balls with six boundaries. However, the middle and lower-order batters struggled against the Pakistan bowlers. Both Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf secured three-wicket hauls, and Mohammad Amir took two wickets as India were bowled out for 119 runs in 19 overs.
We Had Too Many Dot Balls - Babar Azam
At the post-match presentation, Pakistan captain Babar Azam acknowledged that Pakistan faced too many dot balls and lost wickets. Babar highlighted the significance of utilizing the first six overs in batting, but they failed to do so.
"We bowled well. In the batting, lost back-to-back wickets and had too many dot balls. Tactics were simple to play normally. Just strike rotation and the odd boundary. But in that period we had too many dot balls. Can't expect much from tailenders. Our mind was to utilize first six overs in batting."
"But one wicket down, and again we weren't up to the mark in the first six. The pitch looked decent. The ball was coming on nicely. It was a little bit slow, and some balls extra bounce. Have to win the last two matches. Will sit and discuss our mistakes but looking forward to last two matches," Babar said.
