It was a memorable game for Nitish Kumar Reddy. In the absence of Hardik Pandya, Reddy is now the only seam bowling all-rounder in the present ODI team. After going wicket-less for four matches since making his debut in the One Day Internationals, he claimed his first wicket yesterday, against Afghanistan in the fifth ODI match of his career.

Shubman Gill praised his bowlers
After the match, Team India skipper Shubman Gill praised both of the emerging bowlers. The skipper was impressed to see how the tall seamer, Gurnoor Brar, delivered with control from the beginning of his first over, and Harsh Dubey, the spinner, who made a brilliant comeback after conceding a costly first over.
“Very impressive, upfront, how Gurnoor bowled, brilliant pace and the way he was swinging the ball, the kind of length he bowled consistently, and even Harsh as well, after I think in the first over, he went for 16-17 runs, and the way he pulled the game back, trusted himself and kept tossing the ball up. It was very impressive,” Shubman Gill said.
