Devdutt Padikkal falls after a stunning knock as Nitish Rana takes a stunner

Padikkal continued his golden run with the bat and once again played a brilliant knock for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He walked out to bat at the No.3 spot after Phil Salt fell in the 7th over

Padikkal started playing attacking cricket as soon as he arrived in the middle and smashed a half-century off 26 balls. He was engaged in a crucial 95-run stand with Virat Kohli that ensured that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a big score on the board.

Meanwhile, he was dismissed just after smashing his fifty in the 17th over of the innings. On the first ball of the over, Sandeep Sharma bowled a slower ball angling away outside off and back of a length to Devdutt Padikkal.

The RCB batsman tried to smash the ball through the off-side, but the ball kicked up and he only managed to spoon it to extra cover where Nitish Rana was standing.

Rana, however, fumbled the catch initially but somehow managed to hold on to it after juggling it several times. After taking the catch, he hit a Yuzvendra Chahal-like pose and lay on the ground.

We need one good start to keep going - Wanindu Hasaranga

Speaking to broadcasters ahead of the match, the Rajasthan Royals spinner Wanindu Hasaranga said that they have played good cricket throughout the tournament. He said:

"I played for RCB 3 years and it's going to be fun. Last 2 games were tough losses as a team. We played really good cricket throughout the tournament. We need one good start to keep going. We have 6 more games left and as a team we want to finish well. Let's see where we are in the points table."

Wanindu Hasaranga further said that the Rajasthan Royals, who are on a 4-match losing streak, need to win all their remaining matches. He said:

"After we lost last 2 games, we have to win. We don't have any chance unless we win all games. We need to see one game at a time.

We all know this is a smallest ground in this competition and good wicket as well. We want to bowl in good areas in the middle overs. We want to bowl good line and lengths, that is the most important thing. [Battles to look forward] RCB is a very good side so no particular batter. All of them played really well so I want to do basics."
