The 27-year-old Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batsman Pathum Nissanka displayed an amazing performance in the Super Four match against the India National Cricket Team.
Pathum Nissanka played an attacking brand of cricket right from the very start, and he took all the Indian bowlers, including Harshit Rana, to the cleaners at the Dubai International Stadium.
Pathum Nissanka hits a brutal ton
Nissanka took Sri Lanka off to a flying start while chasing a huge target of 203 runs against India. He played the role for Sri Lanka that Abhishek Sharma usually plays for India.
He looked in a brutal mode, and his battle with Harshit Rana was an enthralling one to watch. After getting hit on the helmet, he smashed the pacer all over the park and passed a cold stare at him.
The talented batsman completed his half-century in 25 balls and then continued his batting brilliance to complete his century off 52 balls in the 17th over.
On the 6th ball of the 17th over, Pathum Nissanka slammed a six off Arshdeep Singh to reach the milestone. He removed his helmet, gestured suggesting to pipe down, and then looked at the heavens before putting a finger on his lips.
However, he was unable to get the job done for his side and was dismissed by Harshit Rana in the 20th over of the innings for 107 runs as the match headed towards the Super Over.

Sri Lanka failed to reach the Asia Cup 2025 final
Sri Lanka got knocked out of the Asia Cup 2025 final race after their poor performances in the first two matches of the Super Four stage.
The Lankan Lions topped the Group B table in the group stage round and registered three back-to-back victories over Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.
However, their form took a massive hit as the Super Four stage of the continental tournament began. They faced a shocking 4-wicket loss against Bangladesh in their Super 4 opener in Dubai.
Batting first in the match, the Charith Asalanka-led side could only score 168/7, riding on the brilliant half-century from former skipper Dasun Shanaka. Then, while defending, Sri Lanka picked up wickets at regular intervals, but Bangladesh managed to chase down the target in 19.5 overs with 4 wickets in hand.
In their second and do-or-die match, Sri Lanka took on Pakistan and displayed a poor batting performance. They only managed to score 133/8, and even after taking early wickets with the ball, the Lankan Lions allowed the Men In Green to complete the run-chase in 18 overs with 5 wickets in hand.
