Brisbane Heat bowler Xavier Bartlett delivered a full delivery outside off, and Josh Philippe attempted a lofted shot straight down the ground, but he mistimed it completely. The ball hung in the air for ages, giving Paul Walter at mid-off and Colin Munro at mid-on plenty of time to settle under it and complete the catch in the BBL 2024-25 game.

But in a moment of confusion, both fielders hesitated, looking at each other, then moving towards the ball and stopping again. However, Paul Walter and Colin Munro went for the catch but then left it to each other with neither of them committed, and the ball dropped harmlessly between them.

Xavier Bartlett left shaking his head as Brisbane Heat lost an easy chance, and Josh Philippe got the lifeline. It was not the first time Walter and Munro made the fielding blunder in the ongoing Big Bash League 2024-25, but this time, Brisbane Heat paid the price by conceding the game to Sydney Sixers, thanks to Josh Philippe, who made the most of the lifeline in Brisbane.
