Watch: Prithvi Shaw Sizzles In The Second Intra-Squad Warm-Up Game In Colombo

Indian young sensation Prithvi Shaw is one of the most-looked-forward to players in their upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The first of the three ODIs, initially scheduled to begin on the 13th of July, will now commence on the 18th due to a few COVID-19 positive cases in the Sri Lankan camp. And Prithvi Shaw has already provided a sign of things to come in the second intra-squad warm-up fixture in Colombo.

While the likes of Hardik Pandya, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Manish Pandey had a good outing, it was Prithvi Shaw grabbing the spotlight. The right-handed batsman continued his red-hot form this year he showcased in IPL 2021 and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shaw had every shot timed off the middle of his bat and took on the bowlers head-on.

Hence, the 22-year old has already given the Sri Lankan camp a lot to think about as they hope to arrest their losing streak. In the video shared by Sri Lanka cricket, the 22-year old took frontline bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya to the sword with full conviction. He seems to have booked his spot at the top of the order with Shikhar Dhawan for the ODI leg.

Shaw bounced back from a horror tour of Australia last year by topping the run-scoring charts in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, followed by the first phase of IPL 2021. The Maharashtra-born cricketer clattered 827 runs in eight games, followed by ending amongst the top five run-getters in the initial phase of IPL 2021. The Delhi Capitals opener smashed six boundaries in a row against Kolkata Knight Riders’ Shivam Mavi, becoming only the second man to do so.
