Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja is not someone who shows his emotions. But Jadeja was visibly thrilled after getting the big wicket of Matt Henry during the first Test between India and New Zealand at Bengaluru.
It is because Henry had hit Jadeja for two successive fours. But the experienced India allrounder came back hard to go through Henry's attempted slog across the line. During the fifth ball of the 65th over of New Zealand's innings, Jadeja bowled a quicker and flatter delivery on the stumps.
The ball drifted in from outside off stump as Henry tried to smash the ball across the line towards midwicket. But the ball went on to crash the middle and leg. An expressive Ravindra Jadeja was not afraid to show his emotions after picking up the wicket.

In the previous two balls, Matt Henry had hit Ravindra Jadeja for two successive fours. The first boundary was hit wide of the mid-on fielder.
Jadeja then dropped the next ball shorter which the batter made good use of the crease and smashed it between point and cover for another four. But he was clever enough to bowl the next ball on the stumps that ultimately resulted in a wicket.
It was Ravindra Jadeja's third wicket of the innings. He had already dismissed Will Young and Glenn Phillips earlier. There wasn';t much in the pitch for the spinners but Jadeja's wicket-to-wicket lines paid off.
New Zealand seamers dismantle India batters
Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Test is going one way with New Zealand moving towards a mammoth first innings lead. India were bowled out for a meagre 46 in their first innings after opting to bat first under overcast skies.
All the Indian batters struggled as New Zealand's seamers made full use of the helpful seaming conditions on offer. Tim Southee started with the wicket of Rohit Sharma but it was all about Matt Henry and William O'Rourke afterwards.
Both the bowlers were nearly unplayable as they had Indian batters all at sea. Only two Indian batters, Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal, reached double figures while five batters were dismissed for a duck.
New Zealand dominate with the bat
Ravindra Jadeja, who has become one of the most dependable batters for Team India in Tests, too failed in this innings and was out for a duck. Meanwhile, Matt Henry was the pick of New Zealand's seamers with 5-15 while William O'Rorke finished with 4-22.
New Zealand were 345-7 by lunch on Day 3 as Rachin Ravindra smashed a cracking hundred for the visitors. Ravindra and Southee were unbeaten at the crease with NZ stretching its lead to 299 runs with three wickets in hand.
