Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh made his entry into the Mumbai Indians (MI) dressing room with a special request after the IPL 2025 match between the two sides. The batter wanted to borrow Rohit Sharma’s bat before being confronted by Mumbai cricketers Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya.

Rinku Singh, who is known for his lovable personality, made headlines when he approached Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Virat Kohli to ask for a bat last season. Notably, Kohli had already gifted Rinku a bat a month before IPL 2024. Kohli initially playfully scolded him but later gave him another bat.

Mumbai Indians shared a video capturing Rinku Singh’s visit to their dressing room after KKR’s loss. In the video, Tilak Varma pointed out that Rinku already has quality bats but was still after Rohit Sharma’s bat. MI captain Hardik Pandya then jokingly confronted Rinku, prompting him to explain his visit.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who represents Mumbai in domestic cricket and KKR in the IPL, was also seen holding what appeared to be one of Rohit’s bats. Rohit handed bats to both Angkrish and Rinku and fulfilled their request.

Rinku Singh Struggles for Form in IPL 2025 Season

Rinku Singh has struggled to find form in IPL 2025. The left-handed batter has scored just 29 runs in two innings at an average of 14.50 and a strike rate of 120.83. He managed only 17 runs before falling to young pacer Ashwani Kumar while attempting an aggressive shot in the match against Mumbai.

The Knight Riders have had a shaky start to their title defense. The Ajinkya Rahane-led team has secured just one win in their first three matches. Rinku had two chances to stabilize the batting lineup but failed on both occasions. The middle-order batter will be crucial for his team to bounce back in the season.
