Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant took a stunning catch to dismiss opening batter Mayank Agarwal in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match. Rishabh Pant completed the catch on the second day of the red ball match between India A and India B at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.

India B posted a decent total of 321 runs on the board during the first innings. Young batter Musheer Khan played a sensational 181-run innings to rescue the team from 94-7. Navdeep Saini added 56 runs off 144 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six. Musheer and Saini added 205 runs for the eighth wicket.

India A openers Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill added 57 runs for the first wicket. Navdeep Saini provided the first wicket for his team by dismissing Gill, who scored 25 off 43 balls. Gill shouldered arms to a good-length ball well outside the stumps, but the ball came back in to hit the stumps.

Navdeep Saini took another wicket in his next over in India A's first innings. The right-arm fast bowler delivered a length ball that angled down the leg side. Mayank Agarwal attempted to play it towards fine leg but edged the ball to Pant, who completed a neat catch diving to his left side.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India domestic's official handle shared the video of Mayank Agarwal's wicket on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Mayank Agarwal had to depart to the dressing room after scoring 36 runs off 45 balls with the help of eight boundaries. The Shubman Gill-led side lost their two wickets with 66 runs on the board. They need to score more than India B's total to gain control of the ongoing first-class match in Bengaluru.

Rishabh Pant Hasn't Played Test Cricket Since December 2022

Pant is eager to prove himself as he aims to return to Test cricket. He hasn't played in Tests since his car accident in December 2022. Pant made his comeback with the Indian team at the 2024 T20 World Cup after recovering from injury. He also played well for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024.

The southpaw has scored 2,271 runs in 33 Test matches, including five centuries and 11 half-centuries. He has scored 4,123 runs in first-class cricket, with 10 centuries and 19 fifties. Pant will be crucial for India's performance in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia.

Team India will host the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The Indian international home season will start with the first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting on September 19. India will then play a three-match Test series against New Zealand at home.
