Rohit Sharma, on Saturday (June 22), once again failed to get going with the bat as he was out inside the powerplay in the ongoing Super 8 game between India and Bangladesh.

The India skipper had started his campaign in the competition on a good note by scoring a match-winning fifty against Ireland. However, the right-handed batsman has failed to live up to the expectations since the game against Ireland.

In the second game against Pakistan, he was out for only 13 before getting out for 3 against the USA. He started the Super 8 campaign on a poor note too as he was out for only 8 runs against Afghanistan. On Saturday, the right-handed batsman got the start but could not convert it into a big score.

He raced away to 23 runs off just 10 balls before being dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan in the fourth over. While Rohit Sharma could not make a big impact in the game with the bat, he still managed to delight the fans by hitting a huge six.

In the fourth over, he hit Shakib Al Hasan for a 97-meter six. On the very first ball of the over, he danced down the track and hit the ball for the huge six.

Talking about the game, India were on 64 for 1 in the 8th over at the time of writing this report. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were batting in the middle for the Men in Blue. Kohli has got the start and has crossed the 30-run mark for the first time in the ongoing competition. The former India skipper would be looking to make the most of the start today.

Meanwhile, Team India would be looking to win the ongoing game to bolster their chances of making it to the semifinal. A win against Bangladesh will all but seal a place in the last four for the Rohit Sharma-led side. India have already defeated Afghanistan in the Super 8 and will be fancying their chances of beating Bangladesh as well.
