Rohit Sharma Reaction To Zakir Hasan Six

Bangladesh are off to a brilliant start with the bat in the second innings of ongoing first India vs Bangladesh Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Set an improbable target of 515 runs, Bangladesh needed a good start from their openers to get some much-needed momentum and they were not disappointed. Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan have given their team a promising start in their pursuit of a record chase.

Both the openers had forgettable outings in the first innings. While Islam was bowled for only 2 runs by Jasprit Bumrah, Zakir Hasan was dismissed for 3 by Akash Deep. Unlike the first innings, both the Bangladesh openers have got the start in the second innings and will be looking to capitalize.

Before the tea break, they took Bangladesh to 56/0 in 13 overs. Zakir Hasan was unbeaten on 32 while Islam was batting on 21.

Zakir Hasan came out all guns blazing as he set the tone by hitting Jasprit Bumrah for two fours in the very first over. He could not hit any boundary till the 5th over before breaking the shackles in style. In the sixth over of the innings, the left-handed batsman hit Mohammed Siraj for two fours and a six.

The six from the Bangladesh opener left India captain Rohit Sharma impressed too. On the third ball of the over, Siraj bowled one that was a bit short and it was enough for Zakir to pull the ball over deep square leg for a six. As soon as he hit the six, the cameras turned towards Rohit Sharma who looked really impressed with the shot.

Earlier in the first innings, a century from Ravichandran Ashwin and an 86-run knock from Ravindra Jadeja helped India recover from 144/6 and post 376 runs. In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 149 runs.
