Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are modern-day legends of Indian cricket. Both the players have served the country for several years. However, both the senior players were seen arguing with each other during the third ODI between India and England at Ahmedabad.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Virat Kohli was seen suggesting something to his captain Rohit Sharma about the planning and field placements. Rohit replied to Kohli and seemed angry at him which was quite evident from his behaviour.

After listening to Rohit, Kohli went back to the fielding position and put a thumbs up. The incident happened before the start of the 20th over of England's innings. The visitors were 129-3 at that stage with Joe Root and Harry Brook at the crease.

At that time, England were on par with the required run rate but were losing wickets constantly. Just a few balls ago, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav picked up the wicket of the dangerous-looking Tom Banton for 38.

A few overs later, India got the big wicket of Joe Root for 24 as Axar Patel was right on target. Root's wicket broke England's back as he is the glue of this batting line-up. Skipper Jos Buttler couldn't trouble the scorers much and was dismissed for just 6.

India thrash England to clinch series

Harry Brook's wicket broke England's resistance and despite some late overs hitting from Gus Atkinson, India were able to win the match comfortably in the end. Atkinson struck 38 off just 19 balls which was England's joint-highest score of the day.

England were finally bundled out for just 214 in just 34.2 overs. Opener Ben Duckett had provided his team a positive start at the top but England needed a big score from him. Duckett was removed by Arshdeep Singh for 34 off just 22 balls.

For India, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Axar Patel, and Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets each. The Men in Blue had earlier scored 352 in the first innings on the back of a magnificent hundred from Shubman Gill.

Gill struck 112 off just 102 balls while Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also chipped in with vital fifties of their own. Adil Rashid bowled brilliantly for England and finished with 4-64 in 10 overs.

Important runs for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

The series was important from the point of view that it was seen as a preparation for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were playing an ODI series for the first time since August 2024.

Both the players showed glimpses of their return to form after a horrendous form in Test cricket. While Rohit scored a match-winning hundred in the second ODI, Kohli scored 52 off 55 balls in a knock where he was nearly at his best.
