Speculations are rife that not all is well between India head coach Gautam Gambhir and two of the team's senior players - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

The rumours surfaced for the first time in May this year when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their Test retirement. Both the former captains were looking destined to be a part of the Test team for the tour of England but announced their retirement just before the squad was announced. Several reports at that time stated that neither of the two players wanted to retire and were forced to bring an end to their Test career.

Few weeks later, Rohit Sharma was also sensationally removed as the ODI captain. Even though the veteran batsman had led the team to Champions Trophy glory earlier this year, he was replaced by Shubman Gill as the ODI captain.

All is well between Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir:

Since then, rumours have been viciously doing the rounds that the relationship between the head coach and the veteran players have turned sour. Few reports have also suggested that the communication between the head coach and the players has broken down.

However, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir have pretty much put those rumours to the bed by their recent interaction on the field. In a video that has been doing the rounds on social media, both of them were seen sharing a light moment after the third ODI between India and South Africa in Vizag.

In the video, Rohit could be seen talking about his partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal while Gautam Gambhir was all smiles.

Gautam Gambhir on 'Ro-Ko' future:

Recently, Gautam Gambhir also spoke on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's future. Gambhir heaped praise on the two after the series win against South Africa, saying:

"They’re doing what they do. They’ve been doing it for such a long time for Indian cricket. Hopefully, they can continue doing the same, which is always going to be important come the white ball format and the 50-over format."

Meanwhile, both Rohit and Kohli have responded in a brilliant fashion since becoming a one-format player. Rohit was adjudged the Player of the Series for his fine batting display during the series against Australia in October.

On the other hand, Kohli bagged the same award for his brilliant batting performance against South Africa. Kohli hit two centuries and an unbeaten fifty against the Proteas while Rohit also hit two half-centuries.
