Ruturaj Gaikwad has received a huge amount of love from the fans. The prime reason behind this is his association with Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The batter has been with the franchise for the last few years and has been learning a lot from MS Dhoni, who has played a great role in shaping his career.

Ruturaj Gaikwad took over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings last year as MS Dhoni handed him the baton. The right-hander did a decent job as the leader. Although the franchise didn't qualify for the playoffs of the tournament, the batter got great support from the fans throughout the season.

Coming to the ongoing game between India C and India D in the Duleep Trophy 2023, Ruturaj Gaikwad didn't have a great outing with the bat. Opening the innings for his team, the right-hander scored just 5 runs off 19 balls with the help of one-four in his innings.

Gaikwad's team didn't have a great outing with the bat as they got all out for just 168 runs in response to India D's 164 tuns. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals as the bowlers were all over the team and put them under pressure on a track, which offered help to the bowlers.

Baba Indrajith (72) played a fighting hand for his team as he slammed a vital half-century and brought his team back into the game. Abishek Porel (34) supported him well as the duo ensured that they took the team past the 100 runs on the board.

Harshit Rana was then the pick of the bowlers with his four-wicket haul while Axar Patel and Saransh Jain bagged two scalps each. Arshdeep Singh and Aditya Thakare were also among the wickets, picking one wicket each.

Gaikwad would now be hoping to turn the tables and play a big innings for his team in the second innings and help them win and gain important points in the tournament.
