SA20 star from Durban Super Giants Matthew Breetzke recently revealed that Virat Kohli is his favorite player and he has always admired his intensity and his energy. Virat has inspired a generation of new cricketers and has influenced the whole cricketing world with his game.

Durban Super Giants opener Matthew Breetzke has been one of the stars in the SA20 League 2024 as he has amassed 398 runs in 12 innings at an average of 33.17 including two fifty-plus scores.

He is currently the fourth-highest run-getter in the SA20 this season and still has a match left to play as Durban Super Giants have qualified for the finals of the SA20 2024 and will face defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the finals on Saturday.

During an interview when Matthew Breetzke was asked about his favorite player, the batter took Virat Kohli’s name in reply. He has been immensely inspired by the way Virat Kohli has performed for so long. Virat Kohli is one of the few players who has consistently averaged above 50 in all three formats for a long time. He is one of the most consistent players in modern-day cricket.

“For me, it’s probably Virat Kohli. I think just because of the way he’s performed for so long and how he’s kept his energy for so long it’s incredible to play with that intensity and with that expectation and perform day in and day out. I just love that about him,” Durban Super Giants opener Matthew Breetzke said when asked about his favorite cricketer.

Virat Kohli is currently out of cricketing action because of some unavoidable personal reasons. He was expected to feature in the remaining three Tests against England in the ongoing five-match series but he has informed the selectors about his unavailability in the entire series on Friday. According to reports, he is in England with his family and rumours suggest that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. It is the first time in his 13-year-old Test career that he is missing an entire Test series.

Meanwhile, the SA20 final is scheduled for Saturday as Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban Super Giants will play against each other in the finals. It has been a dream season for Durban Super Giants as they qualified for the playoffs after being eliminated in the league round in the last season and now they have a chance to become the champions.
