Watch: Saud Shakeel Given Out In Controversial Manner, Twitter Erupts In Rage

Saud Shakeel played a brilliant knock, but just as it appeared he might lead Pakistan to a series-leveling victory, he was dismissed. His dismissal, though, sparked some debate, with Ollie Pope appearing to take the catch to dismiss him after he gloved it behind the wickets.
The decision was referred to the third umpire, who determined that the batsman was out after reviewing a few replays. With that decision, Shakeel fell six runs short of a well-deserved maiden hundred.

Despite the advancements in technology, some selections remain as challenging as ever, considering that even cameras have limited range and capabilities. On day four, Pakistan appeared to be on track for an easy victory when top performer Saud Shakeel was ruled out due to a questionable catch.
The second Test between England and Pakistan seemed to be heading for another nail-biting thriller, as both teams went into lunch on day four apparently equally prepared for victory, with the visitors holding a tiny advantage.

However, the match appeared to have slipped through the fingers of the European contingent not long ago as the host batters aggressively pushed closer to the mark of 355, at one point requiring only 65 runs with five wickets in hand.
Twitter reacted to Saud Shakeel’s dismissal:
Stupid decision, how was that a catch? Clearly the ball has touched the ground, what more evidence do you need? ??♂️ #PAKvENG Bad luck #SaudShakeel! Deserved a 100 pic.twitter.com/FKhGr2l8PD

Was that out? Has the ball not touched the ground? The decision on the dismissal of Saud Shakeel is controversial where the onfield and TV umpire should have given benefit of the doubt to Saud Shakeel. #PAKvENG

Saud Shakeel very unlucky. A very wrong decision. Idk what was in the mind of third umpire. Seems a mad person.

Not only should Saud Shakeel have been reprieved, but Ollie Pope should have been banned for the third test and fined 100% of his match fee for claiming the catch, if we're going by the Denesh Ramdin precedent. Not that I think we should, but that's the precedent.

Joe Root dismissed Faheem Ashraf early in the day after the score had resumed overnight at 198/4, but the squad was in cruise control after Mohammad Nawaz’s quick 42.
Nevertheless, Mark Wood interrupted his 80-run partnership with Saud Shakeel, but the Men in Green still appeared to be in command considering that Shakeel was cruising along at 93 at the time after having previously faced 208 deliveries. But suddenly, thanks to a hotly contested call by third umpire Joe Wilson, the odds changed in favor of England.
Wood bowled the 94th over of the innings, a fast delivery down Shakeel’s leg side, inviting him to pull but only getting a small touch off the glove. Ollie Pope did well to reach low to his right and grab the ball just before it appeared to hit the ground.
The umpires, however, were unsure if the catch was lawful and referred to the third umpire while delivering a soft out signal. Replays revealed that, while the ball was first snuggled into Pope’s gloves, his hands were not clasped together, implying that the Kookaburra brushed across the grass as he attempted to collect it from near the field of play.
