Shreyas Iyer looked absolutely pumped up after taking a fine catch to dismiss Phil Salt in the ongoing IPL 2025 final between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The match began on a good note for Shreyas Iyer as he won the toss and opted to bowl first. With batsmen likely to dominate proceedings, batting second is definitely a big advantage. Arshdeep Singh opened the attack for the Punjab-based outfit in the title-decider.

Salt gave a fiery start to RCB

Phil Salt made his intentions clear by taking on Arshdeep in the very first over. The RCB opener hit the pacer for a 6 and a 4 in the very first over to help RCB collect 13 runs. Salt began the second over on a good note too by hitting the second ball from Kyle Jamieson for a four.

However, Jamieson had his man on the very next ball thanks to a fine catch under pressure from Shreyas Iyer. It was a length delivery from the New Zealand star and Salt wanted to play a big shot but ended up miscuing the shot towards mid-on where Shreyas Iyer stayed calm and completed a brilliant catch.

Iyer silences RCB fans

The PBKS skipper looked absolutely pumped up after taking the big wicket. While Iyer usually does not show emotions on the field, he could not stop himself from letting out a roar after taking Salt's catch. The England star departed after scoring 16 runs off 9 balls.

Coming to the game, RCB were on 39/1 in the 4th over at the time of writing this report. Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal were batting in the middle for RCB. The onus will be on the senior batters to lay the foundation for a big total. PBKS, on the other hand, will be eyeing more wickets in the powerplay after getting the early breakthrough.
