Shubman Gill Catch To Dismiss Islam

Young India batter Shubman Gill can't do anything wrong in the ongoing game against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. After his magnificent effort with the bat, he came up with a terrific fielding effort in the second innings of the first Test, underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Chasing the target of 515 runs, Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam provided his team with a great start. The Southpaw looked pretty solid at the crease and with the way he was batting, he seemed all set for a big knock. But that wasn't the case as his stay at the crease was cut shot by Ravichandran Ashwin.

But it's fair to say that more than Ravichandran Ashwin, young Shubman Gill deserves the credit for the wicket. The right-hander came up with a magical effort in the field and took a stunner to remove the well-set Bangladesh National Cricket Team batter, who was looking threatening with the bat.

Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a length ball that held onto the pitch a bit, and Shadman Islam went back in his crease to casually flick it away. He closed the bat-face early and the ball went towards midwicket off the leading edge where Shubman Gill was standing.

Shubman Gill put in a dive to perfection and snaffled the ball with both hands to provide his team with a crucial wicket. Shadman Islam ended with an innings of 35 runs off 68 balls, and his wicket came at a crucial juncture for the team.

Shubman Gill shines with the bat for India in the second innings

One of the main architects behind the India National Cricket Team posting a big total on the board was Shubman Gill. Batting at No.3, the right-hander came up with a magnificent effort with the bat and ensured that he put his team in the winning position in the game.

Gill came to bat when India lost early wickets in the game. The right-hander held the fort for his team and made sure that he blocked the one end. After bagging a duck in the first innings, he made sure he scored runs of both the innings in the second essay. He didn't put a foot wrong in his innings as he timed the ball to perfection throughout his innings.

Shubman Gill slammed his 5th Test century and made many stand and applaud him for his heroics. The No.3 batter brought up his ton in 161 balls and, along with Rishabh Pant (109), took the game away completely from the opposition as the duo together made a mockery of the opposition bowling and added 167 runs for the 4th wicket.

Shubman Gill ended with the innings of unbeaten 119 runs of 176 balls. He slammed 10 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. His sensational innings with the bat powered India to a total of 287 runs as they took a humongous lead of over 500 runs in the second innings.
