Ravi Bishnoi is fast making a name for himself as one of the best fielders in the Indian team. The young leg-spinner already has a stunning collection of catches and saves on the cricket field and he has further enhanced his reputation by coming up with a brilliant effort in the ongoing fourth T20I between India and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club.
The 23-year-old ran out Johnathan Campbell to put India firmly in the driver's seat. After Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first, Zimbabwe made a steady start with the bat. Their openers Wessly Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani shared a 63-run stand for the first wicket.
Abhishek Sharma finally broke the stand in the ninth over to give India the much-needed first breakthrough. He dismissed Marumani for 32 runs before Shivam Dube sent back Madhevere for 25 runs in the 10th over to reduce Zimbabwe to 67 for 2.
Brian Bennett and captain Sikandar Raza then steadied the ship but could not stitch together a big stand. Washington Sundar broke the 25-run stand between them by dismissing Bennett for 9 runs. And 4 runs later, Ravi Bishnoi ran out Campbell to put India firmly on the back foot.
On the fourth ball of the 15th over, Ravi Bishnoi's delivery was defended by Raza just towards the right side of the bowler. Soon after hitting the ball, Raza was off for a quick single and Campbell duly obliged. Campbell was already halfway down the pitch when Raza decided against going for the run and turned back to get inside the crease.
In the meantime, Ravi Bishnoi came charging towards the ball, and made a sliding effort to pick the ball before hitting the stumps at the non-striker's end with a direct hit. Campbell was well short of the crease and had no option but to depart after scoring 3 runs off as many balls.
