Chennai Super Kings batter Rahul Tripathi played a horrible innings with the bat in the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The 25th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the teams is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Rahul Tripathi, who was included in the CSK XI in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad, failed to make an impact on his comeback. The right-hander, who was dropped after a few failures, bagged another failure in the ongoing game against KKR as the home team came under massive scrutiny.

Rahul Tripathi, who walked out to bat at three, looked scratchy right from the start of his innings. He failed to time the ball perfectly as Kolkata Knight Riders spinners Moeen Ali, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Sunil Narine gave him a tough time in the middle.

With the way he was batting, it was only a matter of time for him, and ultimately, in the 11th over, Sunil Narine sent him packing. The mystery spinner bowled an off-break delivery to which the Chennai Super Kings batter had no clue.

Rahul Tripathi played all around as he made room and attempted to drive against the turn. He got beaten on the inside edge, and the ball went on to take out the off-stump.

Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers were all over the opposition as they left them tottering at 79 for nine. Shivam Dube played a vital hand for his team as he scored an unbeaten 31 runs to take Chennai Super Kings to a total of 103 runs on the board.

Kolkata Knight Riders then came up with the dominating performance with the bat. Sunil Narine (44) and Quinton de Kock (20) came out all guns blazing as they added 46 runs for the opening partnership. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane (20*) and Rinku Singh (15*) finished the innings on high as they chased the target with 8 wickets and 59 balls to spare.
