Tristan Stubbs flops with the bat
Stubbs has looked in really great form in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. He has played an attacking brand of cricket and made great contributions to the victories of the Delhi Capitals.
However, in the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Tristan Stubbs failed miserably as he scored just 1 run off 3 balls, before being dismissed by the veteran spinner Sunil Narine in the 14th over.
On the last ball of the 14th over, Sunil Narine bowled a regulation off-break delivery to Tristan Stubbs on the middle and leg stump.
The DC batsman tried to flick across the line, but he completely missed it, and the ball deflected off his front pad onto the stumps. Notably, it was a great over by Narine as on the second ball of the same over, he had dismissed Axar Patel.

Yes you are trying to win 5 games in a row - Sunil Narine
In a video shared on IPL's website ahead of the match, Sunil Narine said that they are aware of the fact that they have not performed very well in the first half of the competition and need to take it game by game heading into the business end of the competition. He said:
"Obviously, we didn't want to be in this position, but we still have a chance. We have to take it game by game. Today is a very important game for us in order to give us some momentum for the upcoming games.
"After playing so much games and you have senior guys in the think tank, things become more simple. Yes you are trying to win 5 games in a row but at the end of the day, you can't win all 5 in one day. So we have to assess and process and look to win the first one."
Sunil Narine further spoke about his partnership with Varun Chakravarthy and emphasised on the importance of getting wickets with the new ball. He elaborated:
"I think me and Varun always try to help the team in the best way possible but at the end of the day, you need to start bowling better in the powerplay. I think the key to put more pressure is taking early wickets and then we both can apply more pressure. I am happiest playing wherever the team needs. I am always a team guy when it comes to batting. Hopefully tonight is the night where everything kicks off for us."
