Former Indian middle-order batter Suresh Raina expressed his happiness for Rinku Singh after winning his first Indian Premier League (IPL) title with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Rinku Singh described winning the IPL title with the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise as a dream come true moment for him.
Kolkata Knight Riders secured their third IPL title with a commanding victory over SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 16. Hyderabad couldn't put up a fight on the big occasion, as Kolkata recorded their third victory against them this season.
The Shreyas Iyer-led team defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by eight wickets. The Kolkata bowlers showcased an impressive bowling performance, restricting the team to just 113 runs in 18.3 overs. The Kolkata team successfully chased down the target of 114 runs in just 10.3 overs during the summit clash.
My Dream To Win A Big Trophy - Rinku Singh
After KKR’s win in the IPL 2024 final, Rinku Singh shared his joy with Suresh Raina during the post-match interview. The left-handed batter mentioned that his next goal is to win the World Cup for the India national cricket team.
“7 saal se iss team ke saath hoon. Mera ek sapna tha ki ek badi trophy jeetu. Ek trophy mai jeet chuka hoon, ek trophy baaki hai World Cup ki. Vo mai parso jaa raha hai. Hopefully mere haath mein World Cup ho. (I have been with this team for 7 years. It was my dream to win a big trophy. I have won one trophy, one trophy is left, the World Cup. I am going for that day after tomorrow. Hopefully, the World Cup will be in my hands),” Rinku said.
Rinku has been with Kolkata since the 2018 season. The young batter gained popularity with his performance last year. He was the team's leading run-scorer, amassing 474 runs at an impressive average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53. He smashed five consecutive sixes off Yash Dayal to help his team win.

During the conversation, Suresh Raina humorously asked Rinku Singh about handling the many messages and attention from outside. Rinku responded that he doesn't pay much attention to it. After Rinku's humble answer, Raina burst into laughter and teasingly said, "Ofhoo."
"Aur abhi itne message jo bahar se aa rahe hai usko kaise control kar rahe ho? Too much attractions coming from outside (And now, how are you handling all the messages and attention coming from outside?),” Raina asked Rinku. “Nahi mai jyada dhyaan nahi deta matlab (I don't pay much attention to it)," Rinku replied.
Rinku Singh didn't have a chance to bat during the IPL final for KKR. Singh struggled to score big runs for the franchise this year. He scored 168 runs in 15 matches, with an average of 18.66 and a strike rate of 148.67. However, he is expected to be retained by the franchise for the upcoming mega auction.
