Suryakumar Yadav, on Friday (April 5), joined a special club of players to play 100 IPL games for Mumbai Indians. The India T20I captain achieved the feat during Mumbai Indians' game against Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Suryakumar Yadav began his IPL career in 2012 with Mumbai Indians. However, he could play just one game for the team that season. He did not play any game in IPL 2013 before being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders.
The right-handed batsman plied his trade for the Kolkata-based outfit till 2017. During his time with KKR, Suryakumar Yadav played 54 games and scored more than 500 runs.

In 2018, he returned to Mumbai Indians and has not looked back since then. In his first season with the Mumbai-based outfit, he scored more than 500 runs in a season for the very first time in his IPL career.
In no time, Suryakumar Yadav became one of the best batsmen in the IPL and has been an integral member of the Mumbai Indians team since then. He also won the IPL with the franchise in 2019 and 2020. He enjoyed his most prolific season with the bat in the IPL in 2023 when he scored 605 runs with the help of a century and five fifties.
Suryakumar Yadav becomes 8th centurion for Mumbai Indians:
Suryakumar Yadav is the eighth player to play at least 100 games for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Before him, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Ambati Rayudu, and current captain Hardik Pandya played 100 games for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
As Suryakumar Yadav geared up to take the field for his 100th IPL game, he received a special jersey from none other than Pollard. The former Mumbai Indians allrounder handed the batsman the jersey with 100 and 'Surya Dada' written on its back.

Suryakumar will be looking to make the moment even more special by playing an impactful knock with the bat. Mumbai Indians have not started the season on a good note and will be keen to win the game against Lucknow. They lost their first two games before beating Kolkata Knight Riders to open their account in IPL 2025.
