The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, received a warm welcome from its fans after their arrival in India. The team had an open bus victory parade across Mumbai's Marine drive to the Wankhede Stadium, in which lakhs of people welcomed their heroes.
The atmosphere was surreal as the crowd waited for hours to see their beloved stars and chanted their names continuously. The players also acknowledged the support from the fans and entertained them. It turned out to be a memorable moment for the fans, who had gathered after the historic win.
During the roadshow, the fans were chanting the names of all the players present on the bus. Not even the players, the fans also chanted the head coach Rahul Dravid's name.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Suryakumar Yadav can be seen asking the crowd to chant loudly. As the crowd starts chanting Suryakumar's name, he asks them to chant Rohit Sharma's name, who was standing beside him on the team bus.

Both Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma had a fantastic tournament with the bat and both played match-winning innings when the team needed them to. The partnership between these two in the semi-final against England will be remembered for a long time as that enabled India to post an above-par total on the board. Rohit Sharma finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer with 257 runs in 8 matches at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.70.
The players were clearly overwhelmed by the support and thanked the crowd for this grand celebration. After the victory parade, Team India, along with the support staff went to the Wankhede Stadium where they were felicitated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The players danced on the ground to entertain the fans. The dance celebrations were led by the team's most senior players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The players danced their hearts out while the fans enjoyed those moments as well.
Indian team meets the Prime Minister
Before arriving in Mumbai, Team India landed in New Delhi from Barbados after which the world champions were taken to ITC Maurya. After a few hours of rest, the team went to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.
The players had an interaction with the Prime Minister where they discussed about some of the moments in the tournament. Afterwards, they left for Mumbai, where they were greeted by the fans.
After India clinched the T20 World Cup 2024, both the stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from the T20Is. A day later, another senior player, Ravindra Jadeja, also announced his retirement from the format.
