India's star cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma visited the spiritual guru Premanand Ji Maharaj at Vrindavan Dham to seek his divine blessings. Kohli and Anushka's two kids Vamika and Akaay also joined them during the journey.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Virat and Anushka paid respects to the spiritual guru and asked for blessings. In the video, Anushka Sharma was seen having a conversation with Premanand Maharaj and asked him to give them prem-bhakti.

“Last time we came, I had some questions in my mind. I thought I would ask something but everyone sitting there had asked you something like that. It’s like I was speaking with you within our own heads," Anushka said.

"The next day I would open Ekantik Vartalap (Premanand’s sermons streamed online) and someone or the other would be asking the same question. I would like to ask you to give us prem-bhakti,” she added.

Premanand Maharaj's reply to Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli

Premanand Maharaj gave a heartfelt reply on the occasion and lauded the celebrity couple for their achievements. He called it difficult for people with such fame to return to devotion but hailed the power couple for their way of living.

“Both of you are very brave. To achieve all this in the world, to turn towards bhakti (devotion) is very difficult. I think you will certainly receive the answer for your devotion,” he replied.

During this period, Virat Kohli was seen with his daughter Vamika while Anushka Sharma was with Akaay. This is the second time that Kohli and Anushka have visited Premanand Maharaj. They visited him earlier in January 2023 as well.

Virat Kohli's poor batting form against Australia

Virat Kohli also visited Vrindavan following the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he endured a difficult time with the bat. He scored just 190 runs across five Tests in the series at an average of 23.75.

Before this series, Kohli had a difficult home Test season where he aggregated 190 runs in five Tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand at an average of 21.33. His focus now shifts to the ODI format as he starts his preparation for the upcoming Champions Trophy where he will have a big role to play for India.

His weakness outside off stump was clearly exposed during the Test series against Australia where he was repeatedly dismissed in a similar way. Kohli was caught behind off his outside edge on all eight occasions, thus resulting in his worst-ever Australia tour with the bat.

While Kohli had a disappointing series, India lost the series 1-3 as Australia regained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Australia finally broke the ten-year-long deadlock of winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
