Virat Kohli To Mehidy Hasan Miraz

India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli hogged the headlines on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Virat Kohli was the center of the attraction on Day 2 of the ongoing Test against the Bangladesh team. The batter was extremely energetic on the field and then looked in a joyous mood while batting as well he was seen having quite a few conversations with the opposition team as well.

Kohli was seen having light conversations with Shakib Al Hasan as he was hilariously asking him if he had turned into Lasith Malinga because he was bowling yorkers. While this caught the attention of many, he came up with another epic stump mic moment.

As Kohli was batting, Mehidy Hasan Miraz teased the India batter and told him to hit six. However, the reply of the India National Cricket Team batter left many in splits. The right-hander told him that the all-rounder shouldn't ask him to hit six when he gave a strike to Nahid Rana while he was batting.

Virat Kohli was heard saying: "Khud ne toh Nahid to strike de diya, ab keh ra six maro"

Here's the video:

At that time, Virat Kohli was batting at 7 off 15 balls and was looking solid at the crease. The right-hander played some crisp shots in his innings after that and with the way he was batting, it seemed that he would end up hitting a big score.

Virat Kohli scores 17 runs in the second innings

But that wasn't the case as Kohli yet again perished after having a start with the bat. The batter ended up scoring 17 runs off 37 balls and also slammed two boundaries in his innings. But he would've been gutted with the way he got out.

Kohli was trapped in the lbw by Mehidy Hasan Miraz but had he opted to take the DRS, he would've been not out. After he walked back, the ultra edge showed a spike and it left the entire Indian dressing room dejected.

Although Kohli didn't have a great outing with the bat, he went on to achieve a massive milestone. He became only the second player from the India National Cricket Team after Sachin Tendulkar to hit 12,000 runs on home soil.

Virat Kohli achieved the feat in his 219th game for the team in India. The runs came at an average of 58.84 to go with 38 hundred and 59 fifties. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar mustered 14,192 runs to his name from 258 matches at an average of 50.32 to go with 42 centuries and 70 fifties in India.

Having bagged scores of 6 and 17 in the first Test against Bangladesh, Kohli would be hoping to come up with a better performance with the bat in the second Test. He would be extremely crucial for the team going ahead with 9 more Tests around the corner.
