Team India cricketer Akash Deep played an exceptional shot during the first innings of the ongoing first-test match against Bangladesh. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, along with the coaching staff, including Gautam Gambhir, were in awe of Akash Deep's Sachin Tendulkar-like straight drive.

The Rohit Sharma-led team started the second day's play at 339/6 with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. However, Jadeja was dismissed without adding to his overnight score in the first session. The left-handed batter scored 86 off 124 balls before being dismissed by Taskin Ahmed.

Akash came to the crease when the team's score was at 343/7. The right-handed batter played well against the Bangladesh bowlers. He got a reprieve when Shakib Al Hasan dropped a catch while he was on 8 runs. Akash played a pull shot off Taskin Ahmed's bowling, but Shakib could not take the catch.

The incident took place on the fifth ball of the 86th over in India's first innings. Akash Deep played an impressive drive against Hasan Mahmud to score a boundary. The lower-order batter executed the shot perfectly off the front foot, and the Indian dugout acknowledged the boundary from Akash.

Akash Deep was dismissed after scoring 17 runs off 30 balls, including four boundaries. The Indian team lost the next two wickets in quick succession and was bowled out for 376 runs in the first innings. Taskin picked up three wickets in the morning session, and Hasan Mahmud dismissed Jasprit Bumrah.

Ravichandran Ashwin Smashed Sixth Test Century

Ashwin was the top scorer for India with 113 runs off 133 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes. It was his sixth Test century and second consecutive Test hundred at his home ground. Hasan Mahmud completed a well-deserved five-wicket haul and became the first Bangladeshi bowler to do so in India.

Iceland Cricket took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to state that they rated Ravichandran Ashwin as one of the great all-rounders two years ago. The post added that it takes time for the wider cricket community to fully acknowledge this talent.

"We knew 2 years ago that Ashwin was up there among the great all-rounders, but it takes time for this knowledge to seep into the broader consciousness of the cricketing public," Iceland Cricket wrote on X.

Earlier, Bangladesh made an impressive start by taking three wickets with the new ball. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal (56) and Rishabh Pant (39) helped stabilize the innings. India found themselves struggling at 144/6, but Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin then successfully rescued the team.
