Virat Kohli fails to make an impact with the bat in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh

Virat Kohli, who is making his return to Test cricket after a while, didn't have a great outing with the bat in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He bagged low scores in both the innings and failed to live up to the expectations.

Kohli scored 6 runs in the first innings and it was expected that he would set the stage on fire in the second innings. The batter was solid at the crease and played some confident strokes in his innings. But he couldn't carry on as he perished after a start.

Virat Kohli was trapped in LBW by Mehidy Hasan Miraz as he was back in the hut for 17 runs. But later it was revealed that the batter had nicked the ball. He opted against taking the DRS, and this led to his downfall as he yet again was back in the hut, having scored a few under his belt.

In the second innings, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant were the stars with the bat for India National Cricket Team. The young batters slammed terrific centuries and made sure that they put their team in the winning position on Day 3 of the game.

After India lost three quick wickets, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant joined hands together and made sure that they bailed the team out of trouble. They took the attack to the Bangladesh spinners and made sure they extended the lead to over 500 runs and downplayed the opposition.

Shubman Gill remained unbeaten at 119 while Rishabh Pant slammed 109 as they together stitched 167 runs for the 4th wicket. Their sensational effort powered India to a total of 287 runs as they took a humongous lead, setting a target of 515 runs for Bangladesh to chase.
