Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Abdullah Shafique couldn't set the stage on fire in the ongoing game against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The first game of the two-match Test series between the teams is taking place at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan were asked to bat first and they didn't have a great start with the bat. The conditions that have been offering great help to the fast bowler didn't work well for the team. They lost opener Abdullah Shafique early and it opened the floodgates for the team.
But the credit for Shafique's wicket goes to Zakir Hasan, who picked a sensational catch to dismiss the batter. The right-hander perished in the 4th over and with his wicket, Pakistan National Cricket Team lost their first wicket for just 3 runs.
During the 3rd ball of the 4th over, Hasan Mahmud bowled a wide full outswinger outside off. Abdullah Shafique went for the drive and got a thick outside edge. It seemed that it would race away to the boundary but Zakir Hasan at the fifth slip came up with a sensational effort.
Zakir Hasan flew to his right and plucked it out with both hands to remove the batter. It was a pure pure reflex action and thanks to his efforts, the Bangladesh National Cricket Team got the early wicket that they needed in the form of Shafique.

Shafique didn't have a great outing with the bat as he scored just 2 runs off 14 balls. After he got out, Pakistan lost a few quick wickets. Skipper Shan Masood was the second wicket to fall as he bagged a controversial dismissal. The captain ended with 6 runs off 11 balls.
To worsen the case more, Babar Azam bagged a duck as Pakistan lost their third wicket for just 16 runs. Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud bowled great lines and lengths as they troubled Pakistan National Cricket Team batters big time and made run scoring hard for them.
After the Pakistan National Cricket Team lost three quick wickets, it was youngster Saim Ayub and vice-captain Saud Shakeel, who bailed the team out of trouble. The duo soaked in all the pressure and ensured that the team didn't lose more wickets in the same session.
Saim Ayub, who was under the scanner for his poor form, slammed a sensational half-century. He added 98 runs with Saud Shakeel before he got out. The batter ended with the innings of 56 runs off 98 balls, hitting 4 fours and 1 six in his innings.
Ayub was removed by Hasan Mahmud but on the other hand, Saud Shakeel has been batting well. The vice-captain looks all set for a half-century and would be keen to carry on and take his team to the big first-innings total.
