Wayne Parnell went unsold in the IPL Auction 2024 on December 19, 2023 in Dubai. Wayne Parnell was one of the 11 players released by Royal Challengers Bangalore before the auction. The left-arm pacer returned to IPL in 2023 after almost a decade.
He had not played in the competition from 2015 to 2022 before being bought by the Bengaluru-based outfit. In his comeback season, he picked up 9 wickets in 7 games while having an economy rate of more than 9.
The left-arm pacer began his IPL journey in 2011 with the now-defunct Pune Warriors and played three seasons for them. So far, he has played 33 IPL matches and has picked up 35 wickets while having an economy rate of 7.78. Overall, Wayne Parnell has played 280 T20s and has taken 291 wickets while in international cricket, he has 59 wickets from 56 games.
