India Legends got the better of the Sri Lanka Legends in the final of the Road Safety Series 2021 on Sunday which was played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. India Legends all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared a group photo with the team on his Instagram and congratulated them for the victory.
India Legends lost openers Virender Sehwag (10) and Sachin Tendulkar (30) and soon after S Badrinath followed them for 7 runs. However, the 2011 World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup-winning duo of Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan came together to salvage the innings and took the attack to Sri Lankan bowlers.
Yuvraj Singh made 60 in 41 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes, while Yusuf Pathan hammered 62* in 36 with 4 fours and 5 sixes to his name. Their partnership yielded 85 runs for the 4th wicket. And even Irfan Pathan hit one-six in the three balls he faced as they took India Legends to 181/4.

Sri Lanka Legends had a stiff task of chasing down a relatively large total. Though Tillakaratne Dilshan, the captain, gave a good start with 21 runs, the remainder of the team failed to deal with the pressure created by the Indian Legends bowling attack.
Only Sanath Jayasuriya (43), Chintaka Jayasinghe (40), and Kaushalya Weeraratne (38) managed to stand tall as the Pathan brothers ran riot. Yusuf Pathan (2/26) and Irfan Pathan (2/29) were the best picks of the bowlers, as Sri Lanka Legends managed 167/7 in 20 overs. India Legends won the match by 14 runs and were crowned the Road Safety World Series 2021 champions.
Tillakaratne Dilshan was named the Man of the Series for his all-round show in the tournament. The captain of Sri Lanka Legends scored 271 runs and picked up 12 wickets in 8 matches for his side to help them finish as runners-up. Yusuf Pathan was named the Player of the Match for his 62* and 2 wickets in the final.
Yuvraj took to Instagram to share a picture with his India Legends teammates after their title triumph and congratulated the ‘youngsters’.
“Well done youngsters !!! congratulations #indian legends,” Yuvraj captioned his post on Instagram.
